News Release,
January 2001:
Foundations of Light Publishing has proudly released Honoring
the Hermit II: Sharing the Vision by Rebecca A. Holdorf. This second
book in the HONORING THE HERMIT trilogy examines the concepts of peace,
love and understanding as the basic components to building a new world vision
for all of us. True to the conversational essay style of the first book, Honoring
the Hermit II: Sharing the Vision investigates what mindset would be
required to literally change the world around us from that of fear and despair,
to a world full of peace, love and understanding.
The journey to that new beginning starts within each of us as
we more closely examine what composes peace, as we define the many faces of love
and as we better understand ourselves and recognize our own frustrations
demonstrated in our neighbor's behavior. By Honoring the Hermit,
connecting into our Higher Self for guidance, we align ourselves with each other
at a higher spiritual level that permits us to function as one unit, one
consciousness. When we are in higher consciousness, we feel a sense of oneness
and naturally live a more peaceful existence where we feel interconnected to all
of creation, including to the Earth that sustains us during this excursion
through life.
The vision unfolds by first examining the lack of peace around
us, by helping to create peace within us, and by stressing the importance of our
own attitudes toward peaceful coexistence with all others. Chapter two considers
the many aspects of love, both for ourselves and for all others; and the book
culminates by offering a broader understanding of what living together as a
unified consciousness truly entails. It requires us to understand our own
behaviors to better relate to what we see around us. The purpose of the
book can best be summed up in this excerpt from Honoring the Hermit II:
Sharing the Vision:
"We must create a nurturing environment that reveres peace, that promotes
reconciliation, that rewards sharing and generosity, that holds wisdom as the
highest standard of personal achievement, and that views spiritual evolution as
the greatest benefit for participation in this world we all share." --from
"What Peace Isn't"
Actually, the book can best speak for its own merits through these few quotes:
"Being at peace is recognizing a personal connection to everyone and
everything around us. It is simply seeing ourselves as merely parts of the whole
of creation, no better, no worse than any other part, all functioning
individually for the enhancement of the total unit." --from "Finding
Peace Within"
"Peace must be nurtured and cultivated. Love must be shared to be fully
appreciated. Understanding begins when we see others as ourselves, only acting
out their frustrations with their emotions." --from "Harvesting the
Crops"
"We are multifacets of the monstrous, spinning diamond of pure light
reflecting the many faces of love." --from "Establishing Love"
"We control our own minds. We create our own experiences. We even create
our own worst fears, but we can choose which experience we prefer to pursue. Why
choose fear when we can choose love? Why choose to tell ourselves how impossible
our situations are when we can choose to tell ourselves that every possibility
for a new and better world lie just ahead of us? All it takes is focused
attention on what we really desire, a determined effort to realize it and the
patience to wait for it to materialize." --from "Memories"
"The vision of a great society does not begin with a few select individuals
who determine how best everyone can live their lives; it begins with all of us
tapping into the oneness to determine how best we ourselves should live our
lives." --from "Precursor to Building a New World"
"We can't just sit on our rooftops waiting for God to pluck us away to
safety. It won't happen. Not because God doesn't care, but because God has
already provided us with the means to change this world. It's called personal
initiative and individual effort." --from "Where Is God While All This
Is Happening?"
"By Honoring the Hermit, connecting into our true selves for
guidance, we know what we as individuals can do to help create this new world.
While our efforts may differ, our goal will always remain the same. We are
building a better world to reflect our growing spiritual awareness, and it will
be a truly magnificent place for everyone." --from "Sharing the
Vision"
