The Road Home Don’t lead me down the beaten path, I seldom remember my way back to the road. Please don’t tell me about your shortcuts. I already know my way home. Don’t try to give me guidance. I already have a map to follow. It’s laid out that the way is straight, and narrow is the gate to home.
Please let me walk the path I’ve chosen, Don’t try to lead me astray. But please if you want to walk with me, Please come along and join me, I happen to be going His way.
This road has been walked by many others, Though it’s the less chosen route to go. This path is fraught with tears and hardship, But you never walk it alone. It teaches strength and hope, And forces us in faith to grow. It’s narrow and hard. But it’s the only road that leads to home.
Please let me walk the path I’ve chosen, Don’t try to lead me astray. But if you want to walk with me, Please come along and join me, I happen to be going His way.
No matter what you hear, Those shortcuts are only dead ends. They waste your time on the useless, ‘Til your time’s reached it’s end. There’s only one way to go, If you want to go with a friend. So on the way home, stay on the road you know, And you'll get home in the end.
Please let me walk the path I’ve chosen, Don’t try to lead me astray. But if you want to walk with me, Please come along and join me, Because I happen to be going His way.
Good Morning My Child (July 17, 2000) Woke up this morning before the break of day,Watched the sun rise and the darkness fade away. I heard the birds singing as they began to play. Could swear I heard you whisper, and thought I heard you say...
My child, My Child, good morning to you. I watched you as you slept, And I'll watch you the day through. I will never leave you. I'll always see you through. My child, My child, good morning to you.
Staring over coffee, and planning out my day. I'm consumed by how you love me in each and every way. Lord I'll always love you. I will give you praise. Each and every morning I can hear you say...
My child, My child, good morning to you. I watched you as you slept, And I'll watch you the day through. I will never leave you. I'll always see you through. My child, My child, good morning to you.
I start the morning laughing, And smile through the day. I pass good cheer to anyone who may come my way. I smile in the evening as I kneel down to pray. Thank you my Father for taking me through the day.
My child, My child, good evening to you. I watched you through the day, And I'll watch you the night through. I will never leave you. I'll always see you through. My child, My child, good evening to you.
Just A Little Prayer (July 27, 2000) Just a little prayer of thanks, For all the things you do, Like the way you named the stars, And the way you hung the moon. You make the ocean waters sparkle, In the early afternoon, And teach a baby how to cry, smile, laugh, and croon. You place love in all our hearts, To show to all the world. You give us courage and strength To bear our heavy loads. You guide us in your ways While giving us room to grow, And you bring us comfort By never leaving us alone. You put people in our lives To train us in your ways. You give us a smile To brighten everyone's rainy days. You give us fragrant flowers, To stop and smell along the way. A partner's made for everyone To love for all our days. You do so many things that I can't begin to list. But from this little prayer I hope you catch the gist. To praise you is to show you My love and thankfulness. I know you'll never change, Your love and care are timeless. So Lord again I thank you For all the things you do. I thank you for your wisdom, And the sound of a baby's croon. I thank you for your timeless love And the way you hung the moon. Thank you God for just being there, Night, morning, and afternoon. |
