Shamanic Classes and Information Interest in Shamanism has recently exploded. Having begun an apprenticeship in it myself, I can say that to me, Shamanism is like "coming home" to a deep respect of and appreciation for the Earth and every creature, large or small, upon her. To some, it might be considered a form of animistic spirit beliefs that are framed in indigenous cosmologies. In other words, it might be considered a form of religion based on the belief systems of the tribe or people practicing it. But to me, it is simply an enhanced way of connecting to everyone and everything around me: the Earth, the sun, the moon, the stars, the animals, the sky, the winds, the water, the fire, the stones, the plants, .....everything. It is an opportunity to become very still within and blend into the Universal energies surrounding us--supporting us--of which we are only minute droplets in the vast ocean of energies. I personally felt Shamanic training was the next step in my own evolutional path because it seemed to offer "energy training" beyond what I had previously studied. It offered me new techniques and broader perspectives on viewing ourselves as "energy units interacting with other energy units." Shamanism is helping me now understand what I was occasionally experiencing during my Reiki practice, but I'd had no point of reference to make sense of the situation at the time. From the broader context offered in Shamanic study, I now feel more assured and comfortable in dealing with "unusual" energies, and feel better personally protected from unknown affectations that might try to disrupt some Reiki sessions. Shamanism gave me not only explanations of what might be occurring, it also offered solutions in the form of "techniques" for dealing with energy residues that affect people in harmful ways, and for clearing karmic imprints that help release us from our previously prescribed fates. Having only begun my apprenticeship in it, I don't feel qualified to expound on all aspects of it at this time, but from the broadest perspective, it's all about recognizing who we are at the very center of our being--and seeing that same "being" within everyone and everything. It is about recognizing "Spirit" existing in every aspect of who we are and what we do, and seeing how SPIRIT, that can take any form, interacts with all of us. When we realize that we are simply aspects of Spirit, we start to see each other as parts of ourselves. There are no strangers--there are no THEM--there is only US. So please explore the subject matter of Shamanism in general (Tibetan, Siberian, Korean, African, North and South American, Aboriginal, Caribbean, Polynesian, etc...)--as it is fascinating, and please review what classes and other information are shown on this site. As the demand for information on the subject increases, so do the classes form in response to the requests for them. If there is some class you would like to see offered pertaining to Shamanic studies, let us know, and we'll try to create the very thing that you need. In Oneness, Love and Light, Becky
